@magnatom 48.8mph, you should be wearing leathers :)))
-
Why do you ride on the left side of the road :o?

Gee it's like playing pothole space invaders!

Like the guy at the end on the blue and white bike, suzuki gsx-r 750, thats for speed, still not as good as my thou :)
-
i once did 47 on a hill, however, there was a junction at the bottom of that hill and as i slowed for it, i hit some gravel and lost the front end at easily over 30, was wearing a helmet and jeans (im not a pro type cyclist) and believe me it hurt.
Moral of the story, bicycles arnt made for speed, if you wanna go fast get a superbike and a racetrack :)

Went through the ford at 36mph(mtb)the other week, my feet were dry until then !!
maxed out with mtb gears at 34 the hill did most of the work :-)

I have done 44.3 mph on a mountain bike with road tyres. Still stable as anything. One thing you have to watch out for at that speed is sudden changes in gusts of wind. They are very de-stabilising

Highest speed i've reached is 54mph.... now that was fun... and a really crazy thing to do... the front wheel was shaking big time... this was on a steep hill on the A53 buxton to leek road.... I'll have to visit this hill again with my own cycle cam...

No, I carried on to Fintry on this occasion. I got 48.8m[h coming down Tak Ma Doon. I didn't know about the Ford and hit that at about 40mph. That was a brown lycra moment! :-o

My all time highest speed was 43 MPH. My mountain bike gears will not let me go any faster. Road bikes have higher gears than MTB bikes. Where I live, a road bike would not last long, our roads are real bad,
time for those mud guards to come off!

Aye it was nice. Unfortunately as I am training for the Trossachs ton, and time was limited (had to get back to Glasgow for lunch) I had to keep moving as best I could. It would be nice to take at a more leisurely pace!
Not sure about the bushes!
