use astronomy software to input coordinates and time , you can then see what satellites where in the sky , look like sats to me though ,i dont think planes fly high enough to get out of the earths shadow at night so they wouldnt be fully luminated like in this video ,

they are just planes. see them all the time

I see these every night, not so often in twos though I just have good regular binoculars.

Nice capture. I should point out though that this is the 2nd vid of yours I've watched where your time is off by one hour. The actual time of this vid is 2210 and we're looking at the NOSS 3-3 (A) and the 3-3 (C) satellites. One of many sets of twins visible all over the world. They are in slightly different orbits which is why you got the impression the first one slowed down, when in fact the 2nd one was actually catching up.
This is fact readily available at the Heavens Above website.

@ufoguy1962 Yes, thanks for that. I just try to remember the times in my head as i dont want it displayed on the camera as something might happen behind the letters on the screen.
And thanks for the info on the sats too. Another thing i never took into consideration.

@FifeForteanSkys They're awesome to watch, at least I think so lol. How often can you get out and film? If you had clear skies over Edinburgh coming up on Thursday night, Dec. 2nd, you could catch the triplets flying by. They won't be as bright as the twins in this vid but they will be passing almost directly over Edinburgh from 714pm to 722pm, NW to ESE. Because they're going over at 86 degrees they might not look like a triangle at that point, although I'm not sure lol. We need more footage.

@ufoguy1962 Thats some good info...thanks. I try to get out when i can and have a pretty clear view from my home...north to south west but i usually go up the hills beside my house then its 360 degrees and can see Edinburgh no problem.
Well, its almost clear skys outside just now but we have had really heavy snow here (worst in 40yrs) so i am going to try and catch those sats tonight. NW - ESE is clear at the front of my home.
Thanks for your info again. I am taking it on board :0)
