I keep coming back to this performer because he plays it the best. He is a good reference. My teacher is from Russia and wants me to play it very Russian. This is a good interpretation. Best I've seen.
Wish the video could be re uploaded so that his motions were the same as the sound. There was another exact video like this that was exact, but it is gone.

Gilels played it way better than Lisitsa who appears to be rushing through the piece quite a bit as if fearful of missing on some notes - a common phenomenon I find also with other performers. Gilels on the other hand controlled the tempo perfectly well and it sounded all so natural as he took the listeners through the piece..................
