Georgette Kanmogne, Ph.D., MPH., associate professor, Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience.
Investigating the mechanisms of HIV-induced vascular dysfunction and neuroAIDS is the focus of Dr. Kanmogne's laboratory. Another focus of her laboratory is nanomedicine and nanotoxicology: study of the ability of antiretroviral drugs-encapsulated nanoparticles to enter the brain, as well as their effects on cell viability and function. For these studies, the laboratory uses various techniques, including molecular biology, gene sequencing and phylogenetic analyses, gene array and protein microarray, protein chemistry, immunohistochemistry and immunocytochemistry.
