Introduction to the internet is the platform

I have been involved with many discussions over the last 15 years about the use of the internet and what is the best platform or server software to host learning environments and online communities. After all this discussion I simply believe the Internet is the platform. No single platform or software solution is the platform. Essentially, they are all the platform. Things move too fast on the Internet to make a commitment to a single platform.
