December 5, 1972

White House Telephone

President Richard Nixon calls his daughter Tricia to tell her that he won't be able to eat dinner that night with his family. Instead, he is meeting with Secretary of the Treasury John Connally and will then fly to Camp David. Nixon wants Tricia to tell his wife Pat ("mommy") that he is leaving for Camp David and that she could come up any time she'd like (including with her best friend, Helene Drown).

Tricia excitedly tells her father that her husband Edward Cox passed the New York State bar exam. Nixon notes that he is going to check over official messages that Tricia will deliver on an upcoming trip to Europe.
