A rich variety of dinosaurs and other animals once roamed the vast expanse of Balochistan then a lush green land.Around 37 million years ago a huge meteorite from the sky hit the earth and wiped out a large number of species including the mighty dinos .At the time of the dinos the eastern half of Balochistan was a separate land mass attached with the African continent. The only known fossils of WALKING WHALE were discovered here; also, most unexpectedly ,bones of the ancestors of the present day Madagascar LEMURS were discovered here; another proof that part of the Balochistan land mass was part of the African continent. Two pics are of an extinct mammal named after quetta city QUETTACYONPARACHI.Furthermore the world's largest mammal ever BALOCHITHERIUM , a type of a giant rhino, once roamed these lands.WHEN THE 1ST FOSSILS OF BALUCHITHERIUM WERE DISCOVERED IN BALOCHISTAN NEAR DERA BUGTI IN 1900S, IT BECAME FAMOUS AS 'THE BEAST OF BALOCHISTAN'

  • actually, they were wiped out 65 million years ago

  • CORRECTION : the meteorite/asteroid impact that seems to have wiped off the dinosaurs, happened around 65 million years ago ( not 37 m.y.a ) at the end of the Cretaceous period ... also concluding the Mesozoic era.

  • NICE yar .....

  • Your muslim, why do you believe in fossils, evolution is haram, your not atheist!

  • The first baluchitheres were found in central Mongolia. Unlike its modern descendants, Baluchitherium was hornless, but other features clearly indicate that this huge beast was a rhinoceros. Its skull was about 1.2 m (4 ft) long, and it stood about 5.5 m (18 feet) high at the shoulder. A long neck and huge, pillarlike legs enabled the animal to browse among the higher branches of trees. Baluchitheres were probably limited to Asia, for their remains have not been found elsewhere.

  • nice

  • Baluchitherium is an extinct rhinoceros of the order Perissodactyla, class Mammalia, that lived during the late Oligocene and early Miocene epochs of the TERTIARY PERIOD (about 20-30 million years ago). It is believed to be the largest land mammal that ever lived.
