The Armed Forces Salute was performed on January 17, 2009 at the Amarillo Globe News Theatre by the All-Region (1) Symphonic Band, under the direction of Mr. Barry Hurt.

And yes, I am a member of the 2009 All-Region (1) Symphonic Band (T.C. Baritone/Euphonium). However we are not an actual Symphonic Band - the 'Symphonic' is used in lieu of the word 'Honors'...and I don't know why.

  • @marionmavericks Thanks! :)

0:09 - 0:14 Trumpet cracked, chord held by upper winds is pitchy possible wrong notes

0:56 - 0:59 Upper winds still cant figure out what pitch they want, overall getting better

1:11 - 1:21 Starts with issues in the clarinets and trumpets dont move together

The flutes were the primary problem pitch wise.

This was better than a majority of other ATSSB Region bands. I am sorry if I offended you, given a few more hours this would have been better. Sorry, I am kind of a band geek...

It doesn't bother me since you have legitimate points. I was just worried you were going to be one of those people with their pinky up as they sip their tea (and you aren't, which is good). It's true that we needed more practice - I think we only had about 10-16 hours worth of time to split between 4-5 pieces. But hey, what can you do? Flutes are not very agreeable, and well, shit happens. :)

  • Pitch... Also they didnt like to watch the conductor...

Just out of curiosity, would you point out the places you're talking about?

  • Clarinets on intonation and low brass intonation right before air force. Hard song to get perfectly in tune though. Nice job trombones throughout the entite song
