From: http://www.youtube.com/omgseriouslywtf along with my back being so tense, i have somewhat of a numbness that comes and goes on my left shoulder blade area. it's a weird sensation.. kind of like a pinching, followed by the numbness. and it kind of feels warm, like a burning sensation. when i touch the area, i can't feel it. it's not there all the time, but a couple weeks ago it came for about a week straight. now it's sort of on and off. i've had this sensation in the past as well, in the same area. i'm wondering if this is muscle tension related? i have heard that sometimes muscle tension causes numbness, but everything i've read said it's referred pain.. say in the arm or wrist. i'm wondering what part of my body is tense to cause numbness in my left shoulder blade. not sure if you can help out, but let me know. :)
thank you so much!
I have been to different professionals and they all dont know what to do. My MRI/CT tests dont give a diagnosis of anything, I sometimes hold my right shoulder up like a string was pulling it up in the air and lean on to my left side.I might have an elusive first rib pulling on my blood vessels, nerves, etc but dont know what to do!! any suggestions?? I have been told I dont have thoracic outlet syndrome but then again, I dont know how to treat my neck problem. something (s) is out of place!HELP

I injured my neck-thoracic from trying to do pull-ups at the gym 4 yrs ago. When i first injured myself, I feel it happened exactly as you said! My arm sticked out for a month like what you showed and my spine torqued, pulling muscles and nerves affecting my entire muscles!!!! What is more ironic, is that i went to a straing counter strain dr today he I told him i feel an "elevated first rib" and neck muscles are are tight as well and thoracic, with rhomboid muscles always in pain ( more below)

Thank you for posting this! I wish I could just pop the rhomboid somehow, though.

Thanks. I'm on the computer a lot and have had some stinging pain on my right scapula, now I know it's because my right hand's on the mouse a lot which causes it to stretch.

This seems to be one of the better YT vids w/active responses on the topic.
I'm thin, have pronounced shoulder blades, and accidentally banged one getting into a van (on the doorjam. I've had pain for a week, but don't know if I put it out of place, or I'm just dealing w/nerve & tendon pain.
I also have post-concussion headache, which adds to the pain. Thanks-

My pain is like right under the shoulder blade. It is a sharp pain in my back at times. I put a heating pad on it and that seems to be helping. I get up in the morning with bad pain and it takes a while for the pain to go away through the course of the day. If anyone could give me any other advice it would be great. I don't really want to see a doctor for this. Thanks

Just my opinion, but if it's been ten years I reckon physiotherapy would be the best option!
There gonna be so much correction involved that I don't think you could do it alone... But I may be wrong.
