"2nd Best" would be WAY 2 Much Irony for Curtis::& from what I hear & see of his whole life, the ONLY thing that was "2nd Best" in his life was his death. BUT, when he went out, he did it with a song, at least. That's a Hell of a Lot Better than many of those who tried the Usual Games in Recording Industry: of which he was MOST Aware &, [Quite Similar to KRS`1 [who, thank the Lord's still Alive &Kicking-Ass Out There] Fought Them & Won.

@skungpoomery Just when I was looking for that one word - I mentioned this part of the lyrics the other day in a chat and me too was saying second, but I really wondered if that was right, 'cause that didn't feel right, you know... Yep. The original recording is where the confusion comes from; listen to it over and over and you'd swear blind he was singing "second". It's only his later shows, where he pronounces it more clearly, that give it away. It also doesn't help that most of the lyrics sites covers bands will use to grab song lyrics say "second".
