Who knows he hadn't?

Wish his young son Paul Armin would have the same level of professional achievement as him! He has his dad's voice.

@claudio17031958 la pronnuncia italiana è buona,, ma non riesce a nascondere l' accento austriaco.

Don Giovanni was lucky not to catch syphilis having slept with all those women.

The slow tempo is an equally valid solution compared to the more common faster tempi. Leporello is a comedic character, but why did mozart use a bass? There must be some intention for him to sound like a slow-witted idiot. Hence, using this kind of slow tempo best portrays this sort of image. But personally, I find the faster tempi more interesting.

jaja - auch hier ... das Tempo ist eine Qual ... für Hörer und Sänger!
Aber seine Stimme ist wirklich super und das Schauspiel beider auch - die Inszenierung sowieso!

love contrast between characters... by far my favourite interpretation...

bravo! wundabar.

And nothing about Lisa Della Casa's acting here?? A very delicate matter, more than managed by here. She re-acts, but doesn't take any glory from Otto. Totally credible and moving. I love it!

Tempo is way too slow.
who says?
Otto had fun working. He was a solid and reliable bass, a mainstay at the Vienna State Opera, throughout all feasible repertoire. Ever heard him do Baron Ochs?
He WAS the definitve bass in quiter a few roles.
