for some years I thought Larry Parks really did sing in this film, until my father told me at the tender age of eleven that it was a man called Al Jolson. I'd never heard of him and was a little disappointed until I realized what a true entertainer Al Jolson was/bit of my growing up days

terrific scene and larry parks was perfect. without his performance film would not have gone over like it did in 1946-7. they picked the right guy. bravo

I just have to keep watching this one Pat....i should be in Philly with the Jolson crowd but i'm stuck here :(( I got the 3 hour dvd of Al's songs on loud though.The neighbours love him...well they have not complained though..lol
