From the fourth season episode "20 Hours in America" from the Emmy award-winning drama "The West Wing". Toby loses a bet to Josh and the results are Sorkin at his finest.

It is also noteworthy for featuring John Gallagher, Jr. ("Jim" from "The Newsroom") in one of his earliest roles.

And from 6:30 to 9:35 (watch out for the moment where Josh guves Toby the little handwave to release him from the bet after the guy's monologue - it's a great example of the brilliant small touches that elevated this series).

This episode contains a disporportionate amount of Sorkin's most beautiful writing.

I never got past this season. Not by choice, just sort of happened but this was the first of this season I saw. LOVED it

And I wanted to vomit over the unborn babies comment. I have no problem with such people working 18 jobs a day. Zero compassion.

But the guy at the bar , swelling with pride about his daughter.

I was in this episode. In the opening shot, President Bartlet is making a speech about using biofuels made from soybeans while at an Indiana soybean farm (it was actually a soybean farm in Lawrence County, Pa.). There is a long shot over the crowd with a head sticking up into the foreground. That's my head.
