I am a Republican because I believe in the Constitution as the founders intended it. I am a Republican because I believe that the states play a vital role in our federal system of checks on government power. I am a Republican because I believe in the freedom of faith, the freedom of speech, and the right to bear arms.
I am a Republican because I believe in free enterprise. I am a Republican because I believe that we should keep more of what we earn. I am a Republican because you and I are equal, and equally free to pursue our own destinies, unfettered by excess regulation or interference. I am a Republican because I believe in the American dream.

I am a Republican because I believe in America's exceptional place in history and the future. I am a Republican because I believe that American strength and leadership are fundamental to peace and prosperity throughout the world. I am a Republican because I believe that America is the shining city on a hill, and a beacon of freedom for all people.

I am a Republican because I believe in America, because I believe in Texas, and because I believe in freedom.
