Not many times I've really enjoyed the sound of a guitar-banjo but I definitely enjoyed this. So that's why they make 'em! Cheers!

Fantastic as always, Thank you for taking the time to make and post these videos , you were a big inspiration for me picking up that banjo , more specifically your "Kitchen Girl" video finally made up my mind to go get a banjo of my own . Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart , keep it up

A guitar-banjo is a banjo rim, for the sound, and a guitar neck, extended, so you do NOT have to learn a new instrument! Voila!
New country bands, like Keith Urban's, are using them to get a banjo sound in the mix and not have to hire (care and feed, pretty tricky... ;-) a banjo *player*
But doesn't rag sound good one on!??!.

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
Rag, mama, rag. Don't you play that so well! Yah.
Interesting that your big finger seems to be the major finger doing most of the work (except in runs). You share that with Tommy Emmanual.
Very nice and tasteful indeed!

@brew1138 Thanks for the kind words. You are very observant! Using only thumb and index finger on the picking hand is the way Rev. Gary Davis played "cause two fingers is all you need". Playing that way really helps get that country blues ragtime feel, but it doesn't come naturally to me and a second finger sneaks in now and again. To see a modern master of the Davis style, look up Dr. Hawkins.

Love the sound of this instrument! Is it tuned like a guitar? Great rendition! Regards! Babs

@babs4TLove It is a marvelous sound, I agree. And yes, in this recording the guitjo / banjitar is tuned EADGBE.
