Yes, viewers, it's another disembodied-hands-take-stuff-apart-and-solder-it episode. After much delay (but probably not much anticipation), Zero drones on for a bit with a short guide on how to get the back panel off of a DS Lite and how to replace one of the silly little shoulder buttons inside. Notably, I manage to screw the pooch on this repair job and then rescue the resulting mess anyway.

It's worth mentioning that the shoulder buttons inside the DS Lite are extremely annoying little surface-mount jobs that will present all kinds of problems for anyone trying to remove or install them. This isn't a project for the faint of heart, myself included, apparently. We don't recommend you try it unless you've already got nothing to lose!

And finally, we've upgraded to HD! -Ish! Sort of! This episode was experimentally shot with my Canon SX130 IS, which has a decent HD movie mode with a really touchy autofocus system that I'm still getting the hang of working around.

This episode's only music track is the "Brambles" music from Donkey Kong Country 3. I'm not aware of any official OST for this game and therefore have no clue what the actual track title is, though I'm sure about fifty viewers will email me eight seconds after I write this with the correct track title and composer.

  • You didn't tell me there were complications! My poor DS! It is a very good thing it still works :P Also, next time we need to make sure you're lit properly when you do your introduction so that you don't look like you have a black eye...
