To be fair, perspective can play a role in how much you like a stylized cover. I actually had never heard the original version until I searched for it after hearing Sonos's version. But by then, I was acquainted well enough with the cover, that now I think the Jackson 5 version sounds "wrong." It seems too upbeat and peppy compared to Sonos, and doesn't really work with a child-like voice on it.

@ClandestineSnowman I agree. This is not a song well-served by the dark spin they've given it.

I thought the last part where they looked over their shoulder was genius.

@schantzman87 Well then, it's a good thing they didn't do that.

@supersingerevan second rule of a cover, don't fuck it up

They brought the 70's up to the 90's....and it was awesome. :)

While original, this arrangement takes every last shred of fun out of the song.

@SuperSoccerguy23 AH right, i knew i was forgetting an important fact.

I love this arrangement. It's so original.

I think this is a great accapella interpretation of this song. Michaels screechy voice used to somewhat annoy me, so it is refreshing to hear it without the motown sound.
@FreakNationCrew First rule of doing a cover: Don't try to copy the original.
