Yes, he needs Windows to run this game. You have to install an operating system inside the virtual machine... it can be Windows or Linux. In this case it's Windows...
Me too (have Quake 4 for Mac), had a MDD G4 w Radeon 9800 Pro so I had no choice... just got a MacPro 2.66GHz Xeon with Radeon HD 4870 but supporting Mac ports is always a good thing!
how did u run this game!!! if u type dxdiag it says graphics card is parallels video adapter!!!! I tryed bootcamp & it read the graphics card as in atiradionHD2600. But now bootcamp is broken or has an error "when I make a partition it says no disk space availble" but parallels suck I am using parallels desktop 4 & all games I have like fear2 crysitosis oni3 mass effect assassins all only recognise atiradion & nvidia none recognise parallels video adapter!!!!
When we use a virtual machine we use VIRTUAL hardware. This means you won't have your REAL video card available to you, but a virtual one that is EMULATED by the virtualization software, which in this case is parallels. But you have other options like VMWARE or VIRTUALBOX (100% and open source).
