Thanks for posting this great record! Growing up in Delaware in the late '50s, by favorite program was "The Hound" on WKBW. I just found an old tape with The Hound playing this, starting at 78 RPM (I guess some of the vinyl was still 78 RPM then), then played it at normal (45 RPM) speed. Its a real hoot! If anyone wants to hear it, I might post it; any requests out there?
Interesting alternative to Owen Bradley's (presumably) better selling version. Although this version never made the Billboard Top 100, Cashbox listed it for several weeks as a co-best seller with Bradley.
There were actually at least three versions of this...My very first 45 in 1958 was Irving Ashby's version of this on Imperial
