By that time Honeyghans hands were gone, people forget he hit so hard he would literally break bones in his hands, and they became to brittle after a while.

These US fighters are soft.

@michaelkan1 rubbish, because if it wasn"t a great performance by Calzaghe. Birmingham would look stupid, & his claim nonsense! You are a muppet. FACT Lacy was hyped by American media as the middleweight Tyson, was a betting favourite in the fight, but Calzaghe was a master that night. Even Sugar Ray Leonard said he took note the night Joe beat Lacy.
-
@dan32113 his coach is bound to say that you muppet. George foreman said lennox lewis is the greatest heavyweight of all time-you think he meant it?
-
@dan32113 No shit, Sherlock.
-
@Kedbuka rubbish, Hatcher was a former world champion! He caught him cold, it can happen to anyone. Great win for the raggamuffin..

@michaelkan1 the night Calzaghe beat Lacy, Dan birmingham said it was the best live performance he had ever seen, at the time Birmingham was Lacys & Winky wrights coach & was the current US trainer of the yr! Sugar ray leonard has said Calzaghe is an all time great. Sven Ottke never gets respect, but alot of people don"t realize he beat Chris Byrd, Michael Moorer & Antonio Tarver as an amatuer! Honeyghan beat a weight drained Don Curry, he wouldn"t of beat the Curry that smashed Colin Jones!

@imperialpod Thats why he's an all time great champion and calzaghe's just an alphabet also ran.
But as i said he made his money got out with most of his marbles. But my fear is that he's stupid enough to either come back ot fuck himself up on coke despite being one of the most fortunate boxers who ever lived.
-
@imperialpod exactly my point Calzaghe elected to pad his record and defend his WBO alphabet soup against the likes of hatchet brewer (almost koed by ancient herol graham) Instead of lazy hopkins and that fraud Jones)i'm assuming you mean roy not colin) we never got to find out. Calzaghes era wasn't poor he just wanted to fight poor opponents. But He was 47-0 so power to him.
Look marvin, Hagler defended the undisputed miggle title for years against the best the world had to offer-no excuses

@imperialpod Righto doug de witt and theblade But he lost his 2 biggest on the way up watson & eubank, and his 3or 4 biggest on the way down eubank ( draw )collinsx2 and malinga. For all the hype and emotion not even ever the best of british in reality.
It was a nasty beating Lloyd took that night when he fought an appalling fight against Starling and deserved to be thrashed BigDaddy, that's for sure. I don't know why you would be Lolling though.
Did you laugh when Lewis did the same to Tyson, or were you choking on your popcorn and drowning your sorrows with that ill brewed swampwater Budweiser?
How about when that guy chinned Starling just after the bell and left him sensless, or when Honeyghan knocked Bumphus off of his stool?

Honeyghan looked really special for a while, he looked like he could become one of the greatest ever British boxers. The performances against Starling and Breland were so disappointing though.
