The Gipple Cabin was built in 1803 by frontier pioneer Amos Woodward. It is Erie County, New York's oldest surviving building.

  • Unfortunately it is very threatened by encroaching development. When I first got there I was dismayed to see a bulldozer about 50 feet away, with newly bulldozed ground and a pile of smashed up timber. Not having visited the site before, I was worried for a moment that it had been bulldozed.
