1964 VW engine on a Gibson frame. After sitting in an old barn for 15 years, I brought this thing to life in May of 2009. Fuel filters, new gas lines, new fuel pump, carb rebuild, plug wires, plugs, points, 6 volt battery , battery cables, wiring and 3 oil changes. Smokes sometimes on start up due to bad valve seals but runs great after warm up. Got several plows, rock rake and a small bulldozer blade to play with. Love it !

  • Run it fast?

  • @Yamaha5574 2nd gear is frightning, 3rd is absolutely insane.

  • Must be hard for a small short stroke petrol engine to work a tractor.

  • @agt155 The rear gear makes it usefull in 1st gear. Plowing, scraping, etc

  • Saaaweeeeeet ! ... hell yeah

how in the world is the power transmitted ? ? is the factory VW fly wheel in place ? ? "dig'n" those custom headers , ha ha would love to see more of this contraption ...

  • @lolahavasuaz Well Thank You!! Power is off left transaxle/ CV joint into a rigged step-down box. Out of that via another short axle into a Ford truck rear end which has it's axle and housing shorthened. And yes the original flywheel is in there. It's a funky monkey to drive.. No steering wheel, just a lever.. pull back to go right, push forward to go left. The clutch, throttle and gear changing gave me nightmares till I figured it out. Poke it in 3rd gear if you are ready to die!! Got Pics!

  • I've seen a very simple mod. to turn two cylinders into a compressor, powered by the other two, remove one head and bolt a thick plate over the cylinders, a few holes and reed/ball valves, block off a few other holes, and it was enough to run a portable sand blasting unit. plus you can change it back.

  • what's the point of an eleven second video? ? ? I liked the subject, but why didn't you make it longer ?
