This is my 1971 MG Midget running and in working order. I just do a small overview and then take it out for a small drive down the road.

  • tappets are out

  • @kingbleah and as of now the engine has seized. i believe the head gasket went out from over heating too many times and we let it sit for the winter and it just wont turn over. the next plans are going to be putting a toyota 4L diesel into it.

  • I thought this Midget was for sale?

  • it is for the right price i would like $3500 for it

  • Let's turn this thing into a rally car.

  • i might get two others for part cars and then we'll see about putting a little 350 in one* lol

  • The price seems a tad high, 3000 seems more reasonable. Plus you have non original seats (what car did they come from?), and the engine bay is painted the wrong colors for the most part. On the other hand, I heard a tiny bit of gearbox whine. I converted to a 5 speed a few years ago. I like the datsun box but oh how I miss that noise! You just made my day. thanks.

  • ya better get some big end bearings for it too..!!!

  • Because it's not? It's a roadster.

  • Er...bollocks

  • I had MG midget and what a load of rubbish it was too

you could never call an MG Midget a sports car

  • that's a sweet one. I got a 1975 and it's running ok but not as well as yours

  • It went well, until the owner sold it to another person. Right now he is waiting to find an MGB with a Chevy 350 in it.

  • Hey, how did the first car midget buying go? I'm trying tog et my hands on one aswell :P

  • I love those cars. We are originally from England. My mums first car was a brown MGB GT fastback with the wire wheels, and my brother is actually in the process of buying a green MG Midget for his first car.
