You will find traces of Haydn's influence in any of Beethovens compositions ;-) Without Haydn, there would be no Beethoven. And Haydn composed ALL his Sonatas BEFORE Beethoven wrote his first Sonata for piano!!! Haydn is - together with J.S.Bach - the most important composer in music history.
what amazes me is how much the 1st movement sounds like Beethoven Op 57 Appassionata Mov 1. it is so strange that proponents of subsequent piano traditions merely expound upon the music that predated their own time, all while extolling each historical trend in a new compositional vehicle.
ice water clarity as usual. i particularly enjoyed the staccatos in the 3rd movement. good show lad! XD
I enjoyed this Haydn sonata much, your runs are always so assured, even and crystal clear. The presto was good spirited and joyful which has started my weekend in a very good way :)
I enjoyed this Haydn Sonata very much too :D Thank you!
