This TV is in near mint condition. Cleaned it up with Novus plastic polish.

  • This set was the first color TV I had in my bedroom. It was given to me in 1995 and lasted until 1997 when it started to smoke from the back. Came to find out years later that it was the flyback going belly up.

Oh, hate to nitpick spats, but the pilot lamp which illuminates the channel number on your set burned out

  • @DrMarilynFan That pilot lamp is all that is wrong with mine, hehe. Sometimes it does illuminate when first turned on. Eventually I'll replace it. But that aside, I use that TV almost daily for about an hour at a time. It is an excellent TV.

  • Your bunny ears may be VHF only. WTOV broadcasts in digital VHF. With digital even though a channel has a VHF #, it doesnt mean its broadcasting on a VHF freq. Check Wikipedia to see. Even though VHF ears pick up some UHF, they do struggle. Add a UHF bowtie or get a new antenna.

  • It has a separate UHF loop antenna as well. I just have poor reception where I live and need a rooftop/attic antenna installed.

  • Very nice TV! I'm getting a System 3 Black and white TV similar in design to this one.

  • A great old set, made back when people actually cared if it said "Made in USA".

  • Your right. It is a huge shame that people throw things like this out, so It's great to see someone actually caring about them. Keep finding things, I know I am!

  • I'm guess you may have figured this out by this point, but the cs1-cs6 is the digital captioning, the cc1 and cc2 are the older analog captioning system.

  • Well channel 22, would be the digital channel for WFMJ TV-21 from Youngstown.

  • I just bought at a thrift shop a non System 3 version of this TV. Its pretty much the same other than yours sorta tilting upward and the bottom and also yours looks to have two buttons, mine has one. I'm guessing mine is probably the newer version. I don't know if mine is from the late 70s or early 80s. I can't find a date nor model number
