True. . .it makes my skin crawl to see what happens to cops who are beat, and to suspects who are beat. Yet, there are situations where I've wondered, if I were a cop, would I be able to refrain from acting out against a suspect for hurting a kid, you know? Cops are human first.

As i said before Taser is a awesome tool.I tasered a guy who up until i discharged my Taser was about to be shot with a normal firearm. I defy him to get up after a 9mm round to the centre mass. He recovered in a matter of seconds and was totally compliant. TASER WORKS!!

That is a lie. Police use tasers on people who ignor then for 5 seconds or so. You can't say that the police would shoot the same person with a gun. The taser is a lazy police tactic.

tasers suck. trust me they really really hurt

tasers save more lives then using a gun

I'm a cop and taser is the best thing to come along in a long time. I defy any one to get up after being hit with a 9mm bullet, taser effect wear off almost immediately. Taser is a less than lethal option that saves lives. People die not because of the direct effects of taser but to other related things ie heart trouble.
Lookup "taser vancouver airport" on youtube to see the effect of tasers.I found the police actions to be completely incompetent. It was disturbing to watch 4 healthy men use a weapon on an unarmed guy. They knew he was unarmed because he had already been through airport screening. I have been doing grappling sports for 10 years and I find it disturbing that 4 men can't take down one guy without a weapon. That was murder, and those incompetent goofballs should be charged.

Unbelievable. . .I had no idea. Sounds like not just tasers, but the RCMP need some training too. Saw the vid about the baby being maced. . .I guess power trips are global.

Do UCLA Police have nothing better to do than tase College students who forget their library cards? Shouldn't UCLA-PD be trying to stop students with real problems who may be plotting to kill other students or worse?UCLA clearly sends a message, UCLA does not care about their students. For those of you who suggest the student resisted, I suggest you watch the video, the student clearly said he would comply...Of course, this was before he was tased...
