  • Wtf? I got the hang of it as soon as I tried. These lessons are cool, but how about something more advanced?

  • @ShenronOne Hello and thanks for watching. This video is from the "Basics" series, as noted in the title. It was intended for those that had a hard time with some of my other videos, which you might like. There are dozens of free tutorials at my page, so you'll probably find something that will challenge you. Maybe you're already an advanced drummer or pianist and you'll just find some interesting ways of applying your skills to a different instrument. More coming soon...

  • Only problem I had was at the pickup. I can't quite seem to get the ambidexterity down enough to do the left and the right separately and just end up "flamming" the highhat. I got around it by enabling the flam on my padKontrol and when I want to get the pick up I just stretch my pinky over to appropriate spot on the x/y pad, but that's cheating. Any tips on improving that ambidexterity?

  • @jeremyellismusic I'm not advanced, i just feel that these lessons were leading up to something different. I was hoping for a funky groove, more along the lines of a hip hop drum sequence. They're great tutorials by the way; not hatred intended. Also, I'll keep searching through your videos and i definitely keep up with the new videos. Thank you

  • First and foremost.. thanks Jeremy! These lessons have been exactly what I have been looking for. I love the you bring the LIVE performance back into Sampled MPCS! I've been looking for finger drumming tutorials cause I want to move away from the pre programed, semi quantized drum loops I've come up with for past sets..... SO glad I stumbled onto your page after a friend showed me your rooftop Toronto vid from the NI Instuments website ...Anyways... lifetime subscriber from a fellow T.O Dj..

  • Play with metronome. Keep you hat going and add a kick just before metronome cliks when you master that add another kick on the click and you got it. Also record your session after a practice so you can see your error's and monitor your progress, it works for me, and i hope will work for you too. Enjoy making music!

  • problems with the pick-up too = (

  • I think it's great you're doing this man. I'm just curious...i get so caught up with producing that i don't dedicate enough time to practicing the live aspect of it. What would you recommend? In terms of amount of time one should dedicate to just practice...given of course that everyone is different. Thanks again Jeremy.

  • yea me to! hate that!
