**Please watch Part ONE first**

continuing my discussion of the interview process for the JET Programme.

Here in Part TWO I discuss:

What will your interviewers base their questions on?
Making sure you're very familiar with your own app and all the info you put in it

And I start to discuss some sample questions:

Why do you want to go to Japan?
Why did you choose (name of Japanese city) to live in/near?
Please discuss some hardship you've overcome in your personal or professional life.

More about the famous "demo lesson" request in part three, coming soon.

Thanks for rating and commenting on Part One!

Cheers,
Jason

  • Tonight I did some very good writing & editing, inching my way toward a polished essay. Thank you for these video's myargonauts.

  • @biped19 You're welcome and good luck with your application

  • You were saying that it's not exactly to weed you out, but I was wondering do you know how many people from the interview process get offered a spot in Japan?

  • no - I don't know exact percentages...

But if you make it to the interview portion, you have a very good chance - altho a bunch of American applicants got put on the alternate list this year as well.

  • I believe there are two things that prospective applicants should be aware of when going into the interview and that includes: geopolitical events and a knowledge of your own country. They are interconnected, but the latter I think is very important - IMO

Jason, my birthday is in eleven days and I am hoping that I get to the Interview Stage. It would be a great birthday present...we should all know more soon.

  • an early omedetou tanjoubi and I hope you get good news!

  • haha.. 'hi, i'd like to go to japan"

  • Hi, I am from Trinidad in the Caribbean. I have my interview on the 18th if this month. I have noticed most interview advice is geared only toward questions being asked BY the interviewer (which given, should be the main focus) however, my plight is really what questions should I as the nterviwEE ask them...

Any pointers? I'll truly appreciate any suggestions.

  • excellent advice!

  • " I was very nervous, like you will be" nice thx :P

  • Wow, VERY helpful Jason - thanks.

I got the good word day before yesterday that I was selected for an interview. I still haven't been contacted personally to set up a date... I've noticed in the comments on your vlog and some other forums around the internet that some people already know the dates of their interviews. Do you think I should be concerned that I haven't received word yet? And how do they ordinarily go about contacting applicants to set up interviews?

  • Well, again, good luck to you and I hope everything turns out well.
