@toxic2k7 Yes because spending one night in the hospital, with a 10dollar drip, creaky bed and a $900 bill the next day (personal experience) is better than staying three 3 nights at a hospital, constant treatment, books and entertainment (not kidding) and getting no bill afterwards.

- The Entity running the public option would be automonous from the government in that it will have to raise its own capital, rather than be subsidised by the government

-- And that many countries including the Netherland, have everybody covered (Unlike the US) but still have a competitive health insurance market

-- Third point was that, many private instituions compete well and fare better than public institutions, i.e. UPS against postoffice.
