Time Life is pleased to announce the release of a newly recorded Joan Osborne studio album, due in stores on May 22nd. Titled Breakfast In Bed, the forthcoming album is best described as an homage to the great Soul and R&B songs of the late '60s and early '70s. It will contain a mixture of her powerful interpretations of classic songs as well as new originals written by Ms. Osborne in a style and sound faithful to the classics. The singer/songwriter, whose hit single "(What If God Was) One Of Us" propelled her album, Relish, to the top of the charts in 1995 and went on to sell 5 million copies worldwide and garner 6 Grammy nominations, has enjoyed exploring different musical genres throughout her career. She has performed as a member of the Grateful Dead, toured with the Dixie Chicks and The Funk Brothers, is working on a children's album and has recently put out a country record. On Breakfast in Bed, Ms. Osborne has the opportunity to truly showcase her particular affinity for soulful R&B music.
This is a in studio/making of clip of her discussing the recording an amazing version of Midnight Train to Georgia. go to JoanOsborne.com for more info.
@markuslebt yup Neumann was simple first with that design long before Rode even exist... and even the sound of her voice says enough that it is a Neumann... a Rode can NEVER produce that kind of quality...

of course she uses a Neumann did u think she´ll use a rode on a big production ? hehe... but both mics look really similar u hve to admit. probly the rode people made their NT1a as a copy of the Neumann.

She says she wanted a 'softer' side to the song and wow, it worked! And Joans version is the one I keep singing, not the Gladys original. would love to see Joan live, anyone know is she coming to Ireland ever?!

It's nice to see her fiddling with the settings...reverb I think. She knows what she wants. Then she wants to adjust the pop filter and decides not to...sweet!

Briliant! I simply love Joan's version. And this the song that if I was stranded on an island I would choose to have if I could only have one. She just need some "Pips"!
