  • What is this? The song is excellent, however it was a song to the people of Hawai'i; I am pretty sure that is wasn't ment to be used as a song for a cartoon. But seriously. Do you know what happened? Try doing a little research before editing a song to a kids show like that above. This song was composed by our last Monarch, a song of sorrow from her heart.

  • Dude, chill out. If you're getting so upset over this, do you rage whenever you see the DVD cover of Lilo & Stitch? Have you raged over every single video on youtube that includes this song?

  • Queen lili'uokalani wrote this song apologizing to her ppl for what happened..

    to the monarchy

DO YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT HAPPENED?????

  • As for you, same as what I said to the guy above. Do you get angry every time you see a cover for Lilo & Stitch and over every other video that includes this song?

  • I love this beautiful song, very sentimental. The most beautiful of all, caught in the islands of Hawaii.

  • aww tis true =D

  • @armydudefromhawaii Queen Liliʻuokalani did not write this song as an apology to her people. She wrote this song upon returning from a horseback ride and witnessing 2 lovers sharing a goodbye. Maybe you should do a little research before you go scolding people. Auwe.

  • @awladis7

    No.

She wrote it some years before she became Queen.

It is about leaving from your love.

  • @awladis7 No, most main land people don't know what truly happened. That's why we need to tell them :)

  • @MrSamRamJam Chill out.

  • @awladis7 My understanding is she wrote it after witnessing an affectionate farwell betwen Colonel James Boyd and a girl from Maunawili. huapala.org/Aloha/Aloha_Oe.html

  • @awladis7 Do YOU know what happened? She wrote this song after watching two lovers embrace and bid each other farewell. She applied the song to Hawaii losing it's independence years later, much like the creator of this video has applied it to cartoons for his/her own meaning years after that. It's a beautiful song, quite acting like it's disrespectful to use it in a way different from what you're used to, and appreciate the fact that the song is still alive in people's hearts.

  • it's a beautifull song .. chill people !
