Instead of buying expensive peat pots to plant your seeds in, make these spiffy planting pots by rolling recycled newspaper around a glass or jar. The finished pots are sturdy and will break down quickly once they've been planted in the soil.

I veen doing this for yrs but dont use that much paper then u can put paper in soil also the pot made by folding works great no glass needed..both ways are better than buying pots

This technique seems to work better than some. No sticky tape needed. The layers of newspaper used can be reduced and still give a good result. BZ.

I think eight layers of paper would be tough for any small plant roots to go through. There's a paper pot maker on the market that only uses two layers.

Don't use coloured newspaper - contains harmful metals for plants. B&W paper is fine!

If the paper is always moist, it'll start to mold
