This was the first modern dance piece I ever saw performed, and it was an accident! Thank you so much Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance company for this beautiful work, I am so glad I got to stumble upon you. You all inspired me so much, I want to be a professional dancer/choreographer because of this piece. Thanks :)
ps. does anyone know the poem that Leah Cox dances to at 1:15ish in this video? I remember that part as being my absolute favorite.. thanks in advance.
Music is from Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin--this is from Sonata #1 in G minor; it's the second movement. I highly recommend listening to ALL of them--they're hauntingly beautiful.
I saw this piece performed at UMASS last year, so inventive and powerful, i loved every second of it. I loved how the dancers had their own stories expressed in the piece and the political statement it made. Wonderful! Truely what cutting edge modern should be
I saw this performed at Dartmouth College last year -- it was beautiful, although I thought there were sometimes too many things goign on on stage for me to focus on the dancing. Over all an amazing piece, though.
when was this piece created?

Bill T Jones and Pina Bausch are the most original choreographer dancers alive today.
