i-ACT 2008, Day 8 - On their way to Farchana

Hello! When you check out today's video at StopGenocideNow.org, you'll see Katie-Jay, Gabriel, Joshua and Jeremiah (finally together!) on a bumpy car ride to Farchana. The four of them are piled up in the back seat and they are excited because soon they'll be reunited with old friends and J &J express their feelings about the warm welcome they received from the Darfuri children. They are amazed that they can still be "happy and joyful." This actually made me think about the Peter Pan story...About never wanting to grow up, because if you do, you stop believing... The Darfuri children truly believe that their dreams and hopes will come true. They dream about going home to their Darfur and becoming soccer players, teachers, doctors, and presidents. They dream about a better tomorrow with schools and yummy food to fill their tummies. They dream about being home with their mommies and daddies... What a beautiful dream!

Hey GROWNUPS -- It's time to be responsible!!! We need to help make their dreams and hopes come true. We need to believe that we are all connected, we are all one community, and we all need to help each other. We need to build a better tomorrow...for our children.

And grownups, always keep the child within you...Never stop believing.

In addition to increasing our pressure on Bush, we must also ask the candidates running for the next presidency to take concrete, specific and timely action for Darfur.
