Frustrated Kyrgyz take to the streets - 27 March 09

More than 1,000 people have demonstrated in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, as part of a nationwide protest against Kurmanbek Bakiyev, the president.

The Kyrgyz are increasing showing their frustration with issues such as corruption and unemployment as elections approach.

Al Jazeera's Robin Forestier-Walker reports.

At 0:46 the woman says "I have never participated in...", but it is voiced over as "I travel a lot, and it's really not that bad here. Other countries are also struggling." Just something to point out.
