  • Ron Howard had a golden opportunity to direct movies and had to quit Happy Days to follow his dream. As much as I liked Richie Cunningham, you can't fault Ron Howard for quiting the show. I did like how he came back for three episodes during the 11th and final season. I liked the scenes between Richie and Mr. C and Richie and the Fonz. Especially when he says to the Fonz "How do you thank somebody who's been your protector, your friend" and Fonz replies "I think you just did". Priceless!

And is part of what made Happy Days sucessful. The actors and crew had a good time making the show and it shows. I was watching a recent reunion of the cast members and it was more like a family reuion, although none of the cast and crew were related to anybody.

Ron Howard's charcter Richie joined the army (and Ralph Malph went with him because Donny Most also decided to leave the show). It was not stated on the show if Richie and Ralph were drafted. They apparently just decided to enlist. Of course the real reason is that Ron Howard and Donny Most decided to leave the show after season 7. And when they returned for a guest appearance in season 11 they were welcomed with open arms. Continued...

  • @Superbatfan didnt he end up being drafted into the vietnam war and thats why he had to quit the show

  • I know this is a 70's show taking place in the 50's, but when I hear this song, I can't help but think about the 90's. I guess those were my Happy Days.

  • I loved this show until Ron left, and Henery took over.

  • I've got lots of episodes!! Check out my channel!!!
