After the Olympic threw her propeller blade and took Titanic's spot in drydock im pretty sure that the ships didn't trade places on a "daily basis". And second, many people may not think so, but there was more to Titanic than just a copy of Olympic. The Olympic class was originally built to be identical, but modifications such as enclosed promenades (Titanic & Britannic) and millionaire suites were added. Britannic was suppose to be even more radical but we unfortunately never got to see her.

i would NOT doubt a switch of the two ships, makes perfect sense and the only way to cash in on the Olympic since it was NOT insurable and pretty much use less, It would NOT be the first time big Industry committed Insurance fraud, These guys are in business to make a profit by hook or by CROOK! I guess the only small justice in this case is the fact that White Star went out of business in the 1930's and Ismay was a social out cast because he was a coward, he should have gone down with Titanic!

You useless pack of arsehats, I suppose the promenade was filled in with cardboard and painted white was it? and no one noticed, ffs get a grip. The Hawke was a light cruiser 7350 gross tons, she hit Olympic towards the stern, not midships in fact farther sternward then the mast, there is NO WAY this tiny ship could break the Olympics back given the leverage of being hit so far sternward. There WAS NO SERIOUS DAMAGE TO Olympic.

@urokorcshaman the point was that the Olympic had taken damage and was seen unfit to use again so they switched the ships so the titanic would sail on under 'the Olympic' and the Olympic was 'the titanic' and then the titanic would crash and they could claim on insurance. i think that's what it was any way.
