Never commented on youtube before, but loved this version. respectful (to Bruce) and brilliantly sang. Honestly, those who are concerned by your tuning or guitar have missed the point.

@mrfolkroots As another comment says, it's a tenor guitar. There's no hard and fast rule as to what tuning you use - not sure about Phil, but I know Martyn Joseph tunes his (from low to high) GDAD, the same tuning that Steve Knightley uses on his cello mandolin. Based on the chords, Phil's using, I think he's probably tuned his tenor the same.

That there be a tenor guitar.

Why do you pend approval on this clip? this is great!

what instrument is that? Is it a ukelele of some sort? and do you know what tuning it is in, that way i can have a go at tuning my baritone uke the same and have a go (albeit adding the 4th bass string!)
Phil always does justice to the songs he covers. It's a pleasure to hear him!

and now he actually has an ale named after him too, according to Phil himself. So now everyone can have Phil Beer in their homes. lol. Fantastic musician....never tire of hearing him. Thanks for posting
