Oh crap,it supposed to be fun.

First i plugged it in on 10V DC so i can have fun with smoke and stuff, but the transformer no matter its ampere rate,it could only give 540mA (measured) on that 7.8Ohm load while it supposed to give like 12w of DC,enough to blow it.

After that i had the x-540 over here in case the DC doesn't work because i didn't wanted to use one of my Denons and blow the wrong thing,so i tried it.
It gives about 50w max of distorted signal on 8ohms (my measurement) so i guessed it can blow that 3w crapwoofer but i was wrong.

I stopped recording and i preblown it for the final blowing scene but suddenly the driver stopped working,i cranked the volume to the max but it didn't responded and either overheated, all it did was weird noise,so i couldn't do anything else than rip off the cone to destroy it.

I kept the ruins, the cone and spider are in perfect condition without surround and coil, and i might recone it because i screwed up a speaker without do something special, because ripping the cone off isn't. xD

  • plug it into mains socket, that will sort it. Do it outside though, you may start a fire. Nice 50hz ''tone'' (normally)at silly high power just waiting at every electrical socket...

  • @tommk3cab It would have been better if i was discharging high voltage capacitors to the coils, maybe next time. Plugging it in isn't that great idea as i have 16A Breakers in the rooms and it would have been too boring to dig for the cables to plug it into stove's power line or boiler's which easily handle 7000w continuous each. The most fun thing is a variac.

  • You just can kill this crap xD

  • @GermanGamer545 I underestimated its voice coil's strength^^

  • does the subwoofer have to be used or can you use the two speakers on their ownusing 3.5m jack?

  • @donyasserdon You can use them only with their jack but they will be barely audible.

  • Sounds like a wet fart....

  • Using a variac is kind of boring IMO. Trying with music is definitely the best method.

  • @chasedover invest your time in a Z323. WAAY better quality and better sound too.

  • yes...since when could you call such a crappy driver a "sub" woofer. It barely makes the requirements for "replacement" speaker in a TV or something...As for Logitech claiming deep bass, it probably doesn't even go below 70Hz, last time I looked (heard!) that wasn't "deep" bass...Not to mention the tiny diameter voice coil, small X-max (so much for high excursion, it's lucky to have 2 mm) and sucky ferrite magnet. If you want a magnet that small, use neodymium... ;)

  • MTX JACKHAMMER TEST SONG :]
