@CoCoYvette Skipster, do you think I care about your lame insults?? There's no need to get your feelings hurt and start blabbing on things you know nothing about because you're wrong. Just grin and move on. You'll be wrong again, so get used to it. Do you think your insults actually change anything?? LOL @ "people like you got met them first". I gotta wriite that one down and make sure it gets in the "Sentences That Make No Sense" book. Have a nice life, Skipster. You hear?

@LT1HILLINGHOE I love your dual display of warped Christianity and ignorance. No wonder people look at us Christian folk so funny...people like you got met them first!

Great, Great song you can feel what slaves or depressed people would be looking forward to a better place were all are equal in Gods eye. Love to all man kind.
-
@CoCoYvette I don't care if you're sorry. I guess it goes with being wrong.

@LT1HILLINGHOE, Sorry but @TamarZucker is right. Spirituals had double meanings in slave times. This along with "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" and many other songs were often sang as signs for escape. This way slaves could get away with communicating in plain sight of overseers who didn't know any better. The Lord works in mysterious ways and always has. Be blessed!

@TicTacJoe134 OK...that just means that you're wrong and unless you meet Jesus before you pass, you will feel those flames. You not believing in God doesn't make it not real. It just means you'll be on the wrong side of eternity and will perish in flames forever.
John 3:16 KJV

@LT1HILLINGHOE I disagree. I don't believe in an afterlife, I believe what we have here on our planet is all that we have, we need to make the most of our lives, and spend them on helping others and ourselves to be the best we can be, without the threat of burning in flames after our death.

This is a Spiritual. Spirituals began in the 1600’s and began to really blossom in the 1800’s often containing coded references to the Underground Railroad, sometimes passing on news or information, and always as a way to resist enslavement. By the time of Emancipation new ones were no longer being created. However, by then, over 6,000 spirituals had been collected.
