This pilot is the first in the series of an intended astronomy show, initially covering the last 400 years of telescopic astronomy, from Galileo to the present day. It is presented by myself, Dr. David Mannion and was shot at the Herstmonceaux Science Observatory in East Sussex, UK.

Their website is: http://www.the-observatory.org/

In future shows I will be covering recent technological advances in astronomy, interviewing media personalities and scientists, and visiting various sites around the EU.

  • This is excellent, thought provoking, full of facts and very well presented. Thank you Dr Mannion!

  • Dear Irish Astronomy I have looked at your excellent website and thank you for rating our video so highly! Young members of your association might like to enter the RAS Schools competition 2010 called Message Received. Just type Royal Astronomical Society into a search engine and go to Education Schools for competition details. Best of luck! We will shoot a new video on Newton at the end of Feb and post it at the end of March.

    Dr. David Mannion.

  • I so much hope that it will become a complete TV series, It's so professionally presented, the Carl Sagan style.

  • Dear hrbear

Wow! Comparing me with the great Carl Sagan is an enormous complement!

I am trying to get professional TV Science Program Editors interested so if any out there are, then please get in contact with me! Thank you.

    Dr. David Mannion
