This is a quick video showing my use of an awesome recording rig from PreSonus. It includes A Firestudio Project, and Studio One DAW. Everything about this setup is bulletproof. No latency, and above all incredible sound!

I'm Recording A Gretsch New Classic Maple Kit

Please enjoy, and feel free to ask me any questions regarding this setup :)

Special thanks to PreSonus for allowing me to share this awesome setup with you!

  • I have a pc and was wanting to get this interface, do you know if buying a firewire card to put in the pc would work? cause i had trouble with latency problems on the usb interace.

  • @drummerboy9551 Sorry for the slow reply... Yes normally adding a firewire card will work, however I would always check the manufacturer website for compatible chipsets and FW cards. I don't use PC, but when I did I figured it was always better to find out what other ppl are using that works :) Good luck

  • you R awesome Drumer ! nice sound

  • @alzalzo1 Thanks so much!

  • Hey I Have a Question,

I have The Firestudio project and Im totally confused when using Overheads,

Which Inputs should I plug them into and do I turn on the button for those inputs next to the level knobs?(Shine blue when turned on) Please Help Me out im so frustrated.

  • @southnich14 Sorry for the slow reply bro, You can use any channels you want for your overheads, the button you mentioned is for Phantom power. If your overheads are condenser mics you will need the phantom power on for them to work. The buttons work in pairs of channels so if your overheads are in one and two then the first button will apply the phantom power for those mics. Dynamic miss like an SM57 or the like do not need phantom power so you don't need the button pressed on those channels

  • thank you helps me a lot to buy the right stuff

  • You know what I took away from this? "Damn, that guy has awesome XLR cables." Forever attracted to shiny things, apparently.

  • Brilliant....iv just got a firestudio project for this very reason (fed up with using electronic kit with bfd for recording!).....your drum recording sounds awesome so im even more heartened that this is the stuff for the job.....it appears mastering software is in the upgrade...did you use that on this recording?

  • @Darkcrimson123 sorry for the slow reply.... Its just a basic furman. Would I recommend it? for just a power strip with lights sure. If you are looking for something that will clean your power I'd be looking at a Monster. I use the Pro3500 in the studio and it DOES make a huge difference with noise in the power. as well as allows you to monitor how much power you are drawing and the incoming line voltage.

  • @danmarcelino I highly recommend it :) They really sound good on everything I have recorded with them...not just drums :) I think they go for about 800 each but you can find deals on Ebay if you keep at it :)

  • @BTAKYI I created this track in PreSonus Studio One using virtual instruments and my bass. You can find drum playalong materials on the web if you just search it out though. There are many ppl providing these resources.

  • @jzzbucket Thank you! It's amazing how technology has given us these great tools to be creative with :)
