in the parallel worlds.

and how many loves have I lost?
Did we meet there, as we did here?
Did we find each other in the darkness?
Were we signals in the night?
Like fireworks, fading. Beacons, bright.
For a moment, our souls sought stable orbit.
Or did we pass each other, strangers,
neglecting second thoughts?
Was I nothing, long ago, there
born to that life, then lost?
There are conflicts, endless and
insatiable, but far removed from us
in this moment, like in a thousand others.
We are theoreticals,
converging at the centerpoint.
We have no words, anyway,
and we have no need to speak them.
I feel your pulse from miles away.
