How come you understood the name but didn't get the idea? A direct return ticket from London to Penzance cost (back then) c. £240. Since you travel anyway through Bristol to get to Penzance, you better split the journey (e.g. buy 4 single tickets or two returns, based on what would prove cheaper) and pay some 50 quid and still travel on the very same train you anyway would've. Never mind...
Cheers! :-)

I hope he gets that split-ticketing tool made eventually, that would be brilliant!

What was the jumping all about?? From Penzance to Bristol to London ahhhhhh

You got rejected then?
Good universities require people to travel to them, I'm happy to pay an extra cost for a better education to help me get a better job, it's an investment, one that will only not pay out if I'm idiot and fail uni, but I'd do that regardless of where I was, so my "local" university has no impact. The failings are the same, the benefits are hugely different.

He is enthusiastic - which to us brits can come across as "being a plonker". But in fairness everything he says is bang on for saving money. If more people *understood* debt the world would be a better place.
