Here's the final few plays of the November 8, 1970 Detroit and New Orleans pro football contest when Tom Dempsey set a long-time NFL record for longest fieldgoal (Jason Elam would tie it in 1998 with Denver). This is all audio....called by Don Criqui.

  • @ 0:10 had this card when I was a kid. Glad to see Al Dodd getting some credit here as it was he who positioned Dempsey for the record kick.

Returned the kick off, but then made a great sideline catch to the 37.

  • My bad, did not read the title.

  • Is that Don Criqui on the audio?

  • This happened on the same day 43 year old George Blanda threw a long touchdown pass and kicked a 50 + yard field goal for the Raiders to beat the Cleveland Browns at the gun. One of my most memorable days as a kid.

  • In my opinion and I'm 55 yrs. old, the Single greatest moment in all pro sports!!

  • Lions fans, yet another infamous moment in your teams sorry a-- history.
