Im 15 and I have started training intensely in swimming because I have wanted to be a Rescue Swimmer for about 3years now.

then great! Ill go for it :D just hope that swiming laps in an olympic sized pool that is 50meters long 4 times a week will be eligible enough

Almost everyone in the CG performs SAR missions, you may be thinking of Aviation Survival Technicians(Helicopter Rescue Swimmer). For that rate to qualify, yes you must do a lot of hardcore swimming training.

well if you wanna be a rescue swimmer yeah it does and yiu gotta go to A school but if you work at a regular small boat station you do thoes on a daily basis and you dont need to go to school for it but these guys are Rescue Swimmers and they need the hardcore training
