The 30939archives Silent Cine Series features restored cine film footage and colour slides from the 1960's.
Phil Tatt always took a broad view of transport and in this programme we see a variety of ferries both on the River Dart & Isle of Wight services. Phil captured a number of Paddle Steamers shortly before they were withdrawn. Phil also used colour slides to photograph the wide variety of railways, ferries and buses he saw in August 1963. So much of what he captured on film then, is now but a memory.
Section One (65 minutes) includes archive Standard 8 Colour Cine Film, with caption pages and some colour slides. Presented without a narration or soundtrack. Featuring GWR Pannier Tanks & 4-6-0s, Bulleid Pacifics, B.R. Standards 80xxx, 73xxx and Ivatt 412xx, L.S.W.R. M7 and 02, also L.B.S.C.R. Terriers. Ferries on the River Dart, Swanage / Studland, Exmouth, around the Isle of Wight & Portsmouth.
Section Two (15 minutes) includes archive colour slides, with caption pages. Plus recordings of 75075 on a rail tour in 1966.
