The animals in this video were observed at zoos in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland and Romania as part of The EU Zoo Inquiry 2011, an extensive investigation conducted by the Born Free Foundation, in association with the European coalition ENDCAP, involving 200 zoos in 21 EU countries. How disgraceful keeping animals in such conditions, no wonder they are going out of their minds, no space, no enrichment, they look so depressed.No animal should be kept in a condition that you would not want for yourself. Would you be bored in this environment, undoubtedly the answer would be 'yes', well so are the animals. No need, in 21st century and with knowledge now available, to keep zoos open.CLOSE THEM ALL DOWN and send the remaining animals to a sanctuary or other suitable environment.

This was so saddening to watch. I hope that they will provide bigger enclosures for the animals soon.

Sad. I worked at the Los Angeles Zoo for years and saw this often. At least the LA Zoo has bigger cages and exhibits. They're working on making the exhibits bigger. Most Animals don't look depressed there. The Chimps, Gorilla's, Elephants, Deer, look like they feel like their in the wild. Just minding their own business. Others still need a bigger exhibit.

I absolutely detest zoos. I used to work at the zoo of Cologne in Germany. They should be closed down.

why have something you cant look after? these animals suffer for your entertainment and business purposes like what the hell, how would you like it if i put you in a cage for my own entertainment and business purposes? you would spend your whole life in that cage walking up and down because your bored, i hope these animal get out of there and have a better chances in life because this isnt right at all. people shouldnt mess with nature and its balance
