A group of conscripts are called up into the infantry during WWII. At first they appear a hopeless bunch but their sergeant and Lieutenant have faith in them and mold them into a good team. When they go into action in north Africa they realize what it is all about.

  • great movie, thanks. liked the part on manhandling the 6 pounder gun.

  • David Niven was rightly proud of this one. A Sandhurst graduate, he was on active duty when he made it. No wonder he plays the part of a British officer so well. His father was an officer, too--killed in World War I.

  • A great bit of nostalgia; WW2 wwere great days
