BMW Ring Taxi - A Lap With Sabine Schmitz

This is a lap of the "Green Hell" with Sabine Schmitz on the 5th of September 2010. It was great to have Sabine as our driver, and a huge thanks to her and BMW RingTaxi for the thrill of being driven at high speed on a track that takes many years to learn. We had so much fun, and highly recommend it to anyone going to Germany, that likes the Nurburgring, and isn't game enough to bring their own car, or hire a track day car. And we can't help but congratulate Sabine for saying the line "I tell you something, I could do that lap time in a van", which ultimately led to Jeremy Clarkson pretty much being beaten around the 'ring by Sabine in a diesel Ford Transit van. I hope to come back in a few years and do it again! Worth flying from Australia for :)

How much would it be if I brought my own car?

@Tpena4 Wikipedia tells us that it costs about €24 per lap for a car or motorbike :)

How much does she charge to take you around the lap in the M5?

@TheVtieg6 I believe a lap is somewhere around the 200 - 300 euro mark, but you can't book this year until November as all tickets are sold, and the next batch will be released then. I hope Sabine is driving it next year! Google BMW Ring Taxi and you'll find the official site.

Do you have to be 25 to drive on it?

@bistro985 I don't believe so, but I'm pretty sure you need to be 25 for cheaper insurance if you rent a car. Sabine was driving it when she was a teenager!

Will Sabine drive my car if I book a lap or will she only use the M5? It'd be interesting to see how fast she can drive a Mini Cooper.
